Summit Racing Run-In Engine Stand
Our heavy-duty all-steel engine stand gives you the ability to fire up and run an engine before final installation —perfect for breaking in a new engine, testing for gasket leaks, initial tuning, and more.
The Summit Racing Engine Run-In Stand features:
• Adjustable, threaded engine mounting posts to set the engine at proper height
• Engine backing plate that accommodates Chevy and Ford V8s
• Adjustable radiator mounting brackets
• Control panel with predrilled holes for 2 1/16-inch diameter gauges and a start button
• Tray for battery and fuel cell
• Lockable swivel casters
You’ll need gauges, a starter button, radiator, and fuel cell to complete your Run-In Stand–and you know where to get them.
engine backing plate should be interchangeable so any make could be accommodated
would it fit a ford FE?
I wouldn’t think so, a complete FE engine weighs around 700-900 lbs, engine run in stands I’ve seen for those engines had extra supports and a lot beefier construction
A 390FE from the the factory weighed 650 lbs with all cast iron components, chevy small block came in at roughly 570.
The weight would not be an issue. It should work fine just as long as you have a manual bellhousing and front-through bolt motor mounts.
I know it says for V-8’s but I am wondering how difficult it would be to put a Ford 170 on it.
