A parking lot is a parking lot is a parking lot—unless it’s the Summit Racing parking lot. On any given day or time, the lot outside a Summit Racing store can turn into an impromptu mini car show, depending on who’s stopped by the store. Each Wednesday, we’ll share our parking lot find of the week—another benefit of being Powered by Summit Racing Equipment.

“Order pick up for Mr. Hutchinson?”

If we didn’t know better, we’d think Starsky and Hutch themselves were hanging out inside the Summit Racing Retail Store in Tallmadge, OH the other day. Perhaps they were ordering some go-fast goodies for the Striped Tomato. Maybe they were just chasing down a couple of jive-talking turkeys.

Or maybe this is just a replica “Striped Tomato” Ford Gran Torino that we spotted outside the store. The Starsky and Hutch TV show, which ran from 1975-79, actually used a variety of Gran Torinos from the model years 1974-76. We believe this one to be a 1976 model—and a darn good replica of the real deal from the show.
