That’s right—the engineers over at Ford Racing did some experimenting with three new 2015 Mustangs. And in this case, the 2.3L Ecoboost model stole the show.
While V8 die-hards are undoubtedly more interested in Ford Racing’s two GTs—a naturally aspirated version that clocked 11.77 seconds, and a supercharged version that hit 10.97—the four-cylinder EcoBoost exceeded everyone’s expectations. Outfitted with only a subframe kit, half-shaft kit, driveshaft loops, custom exhaust, roll cage, bucket seat, and Ford Racing engine calibration, the EcoBoost Mustang registered a 12.56-second pass.
