What do you get when you combine the legendary Ford Mustang with the mechanical genius of Hennessey Performance Engineering?
717 horsepower.
632 ft.-lbs. of torque
0-60 times under 3.6 seconds.
And so on and so forth.
Those are the numbers promised with the limited-edition Hennessey HPE700, a 2015 Ford Mustang GT with Hennessey upgrades. It features the 5.0L Coyote engine, but with a Roots-style supercharger that delivers 7.25 psi of boost. It also has an upgraded throttle body, injectors, and fuel pump, along with a special engine tune. You can see a more complete account of the modifications in the Road & Track story.
Hennessey will create only 500 of the HPE700s for 2015, and the price will be $59,500–just under Hellcat money. And for those of you interested in our Mustang EcoBoost story, there’s also supposedly a package for the 2.3L in the works as well.
The Dodges are factory. This Mustang is sort of like Yenkos, etc where somebody else works on it. Also this is limited edition unlike the Mopars.
