A parking lot is a parking lot is a parking lot—unless it’s the Summit Racing parking lot. On any given day or time, the lot outside a Summit Racing store can turn into an impromptu mini car show, depending on who’s stopped by the store. On Wednesdays, we’ll share our parking lot find of the week—another benefit of being Powered by Summit Racing Equipment.
Most of us around here grew up seeing many second-generation Chevy C/K pickup trucks used as trusty old daily driver work trucks. Back then, they were just another aging truck on the road.
Then we went to sleep a couple times, woke up in the second decade of the 21st century, and those same ho-hum rigs have wiggled their way into the roped-off room reserved for classics, and not only does nobody mind, but everyone (who isn’t a Chevy-hatin’ Ford fanatic) loves it.
The 1967-’72 Chevy pickups have become popular with truck collectors, and we’re always happy to see one well cared for like this 1971 we spotted recently in the Summit Racing parking lot in Tallmadge, OH.
The ’71 and ’72 models look similar and there were clues on this one that left no doubt, but there are little tricks for identifying the various model years of this particular Chevy truck generation, you can learn about here.
Check out the slideshow for more photos of this pretty, red classic.
