Performance Distributors’ new Deluxe D.U.I. for Street/Strip applications encompasses every feature you’d ever want in an ignition system. Four terrific features are included in one Davis Unified Ignition package.
First, the new Cross-Fire Cap allows you to route your plug wires neatly on each cylinder bank. You get the same 50,000-volt DUI Coil and high dwell Dyna-Module as you do with our standard Street/Strip D.U.I., but with the sleek look of your plug wires being well organized. It’s only available in a black cap but it can be painted to match any engine compartment’s theme.
Second, is the adjustable slip collar. The unit features a slip collar with 7/8-inch of adjustability. This is great if you’ve decked your heads or milled your block, which changes the distance between where your distributor rests on your intake and where it meshes with your cam gear. This will ensure a precise installation, while preventing engine damage from the distributor being out of alignment.
Third, a carbon ultra-poly composite gear is used. It is compatible with any camshaft! Whether you run a solid, hydraulic, factory roller, or steel billet roller cam, this gear will provide unmatched strength and reliability. And it solves the wear problems associated with other gears. And of course, every D.U.I. is calibrated on a distributor machine, providing a super-smooth advance curve. This provides you with instant throttle response and more power. The mechanical advance is coordinated to work in conjunction with the vacuum advance preventing engine damaging detonation.
