LAS VEGAS, NV — In the SEMA world, there’s no better way to unveil a highly customized variation of a new production vehicle than by partnering with a celebrity.
And who better to partner with than the man who was “born free” himself?
Chevrolet worked with Kid Rock to create this 2016 Silverado 3500HD Kid Rock Concept, which they debuted Tuesday morning at the 2015 SEMA Show.
The truck is a “Dual rear wheel Silverado Heavy Duty concept with a 6.6 Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 (created alongside Kid Rock),” according to its description sheet. It “features Dazzling Black paint and a specially crafted oversized Chevy bowtie on the grille. For added fun, the show truck is displayed pulling a trailer loaded up with two GIBBS Sports Amphibians Quadskis,” which were painted to match the truck.
The Silverado also features 22-inch wheels, dual rear wheels, chrome exhaust stacks, Sky Cool Gray leather-appointed seating with Acid Wash Metallic inserts, matching door trim pads, and embroidered seatbacks. The 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine is capable of 397 horsepower and 765 foot-pounds of torque, and is paired with an Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission.
If you wanna be a cowboy, baby, this is the truck for you. See more pictures below.
“If you wanna be a cowboy, baby, this is the truck for you.” Because its designed by a guy pretending to be a hillbilly. Nothing better than a wanna be rapper/ rocker/ country guy, raised rich in the suburbs of Michigan, pretending to be a redneck from the south. Chevy, integrity…
Just what we need. Another $60,000+ piece of crap that there is absolutely no need for. Nice way to spend taxpayer money Chevy. And come on, Kid Rock? Please.
