Everyone’s favorite “Friend” is joining Top Gear.
Well, unless you’re like us and your favorite “Friend” is Rachel.
So, everyone’s second-favorite friend – Joey Tribbiani – is joining Top Gear.
Matt LeBlanc will co-present the rebooted show, set to debut on BBC2 in May, according to The Guardian. LeBlanc will be the first non-British presenter in the show’s 39-year history.
LeBlanc joins Chris Evans, who took over as host after Jeremy Clarkson was shown the door.
“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honored and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter. What a thrill,” LeBlanc was quoted as saying.
Top Gear will announce additional cast members soon, according to the BBC.

How about “maybe”? I truly enjoyed the interaction of Jezza/Captain Slow/Hamster on Top Gear, and it all depends on how well the new hosts can achieve something similar. The U.S. version of Top Gear, while watchable, was never on par with the U.K. show, because of the different rapport among the hosts. The Australian Top Gear was every bit as good as the U.K. show because the hosts achieved a unique and engaging presence.
Time will tell.
It’s just not as good without Clarkson, in a word NO.
