The Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama can be described as “one-of-a-kind.”
In only its third year, Atlanta Motorama, held at Atlanta Motor Speedway, has grown to one of the SouthEast’s largest automotive events.
So it’s fitting for the world’s only two-engine 1969 Camaro to be featured this year at the show.
The Camaro SS 854 features two Chevy 427 LS7 engines and two 150HP NOS systems, bringing it to 1,500 horsepower. A custom frame gives it a 50/50 weight distribution, and the Camaro features a transaxle from a Corvette C6 Z06.
See more pictures below, and stay tuned for more coverage from Atlanta Motorama.
I think the photographer could have had more pics of the 2nd engine. I believe it to be behind the firewall. I can kinda see it, I think thru a hole in the polished S/S on the low side of the firewall. Since 2 engines is its claim to fame, more pics of just the engines would have been in order. I don’t mean to blame the photographer, it was probably be whomever edited for the article.
Don, good question, More pics and build video at http://www.americanv8.com. Gary
Lots on questions. Do both engines drive the rear axle, or is it AWD via a Tornado front transaxle to go along with the Corvette rear transaxle?
Hey Denis, the two engines channel power through a single, modified 4L60E transmission. The transmission connects to the rear transaxle from a Z06 Corvette via single torque tube. Only the rear wheels receive power.
