Performance chassis and suspension parts maker QA1 now offers its REV™ Series carbon fiber driveshafts for 2005-’16 Ford Mustang GTs and 2015-’16 Shelby GT350s, as well as new K-members and control arms for both the street and the racetrack for 1979-2004 Mustangs.
Lakeville, MN-based QA1 Precision Products will showcase its new parts at the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV, November 1-4.
The REV Series carbon fiber driveshafts are built for vehicles making up to 1,500 horsepower and carry a 1,000 ft.-lb. maximum torque rating.
They were designed to optimize strength, performance and safety, according to a QA1 news release. These driveshafts feature a newly formulated 3M matrix resin and are lighter and stronger than steel, which QA1 officials say will extend transmission and differential life. Most REV Series Mustang driveshafts weigh less than 20 pounds.
Perhaps its most important quality is that it will splinter in an unlikely catastrophic event, instead of coming up through the floorboard as steel and aluminum driveshafts sometimes will in racecars.
QA1’s new bolt-in K-members and control arms for 1979-2004 Mustangs complement each other while improving suspension geometry, even on the factory wheelbase. They also offer substantial weight savings and clearance room for exhaust system modifications.
“Times have changed, and people are making more modifications than ever before,” says Dave Goldie, QA1 Street Performance and Racing Product Manager. “The header clearance and bolt-on engine mounts accommodate even more racers while also providing increased performance.”
