Word has it the Chevy Silverado will get a diesel option on the half-ton models.
Currently, heavy-duty trucks are equipped with the Duramax diesel, but early rumors have placed the Navistar 3.0L inline six-cylinder diesel, upgraded 2.8L four-cylinder diesel, or possibly a 4.5L diesel V6 in the Silverado 1500 for 2019. A couple of spy shots by the folks at SpiedBilde seem to have at least confirmed the imminent arrival of a Silverado 1500 diesel. They caught the camouflaged truck pictured below at diesel gas pump in Death Valley, CA.
What are your thoughts on the prospects of a Silverado 1500 diesel in the near future?
Need a real diseil. Need to offer a Cummins!
Iococca signed a long term deal with Cummins and boy was he smart.
S-l-o-w-l-y, the manufacturers are recognizing that there is a market for Diesel engines in the lighter model pickups. I just wish there was a manual trans option…
I agree withyour opinoin
If they can’t put rear AC vents in the crew cab they can keep their hot truck…and not hot in a good way. Those trucks need a real AC to cool them down.
USA manufactures NEEDto listen to the public. They can offer any running gear they want but its the comforts and luxury (without the exppence) people want. Loom at the Ford King Ranch and others that have comfort on long hauls. Short hauls need the comforts too. Standing in city traffic, inching along at 10 mph is not fun so how about making our traffic life more enjoyable and comforting? WE want power, looks & comfort so put that in your engineering standarads. Toyota does, when are you USA manufactures going to listen to the public? We are the best engineers you have so LISTEN TO US AND QUITE TRYING to REINVENT THE WHEEL.
Love it, more options and some great looking and comfortable trucks. Got 18 years on my current one with a Duramax, and it’s still awesome and no trouble. I love to see all the companies try and do better.
