2014 “LT1” 6.2L V-8 VVT DI (LT1) for Chevrolet Corvette (Image/Chevrolet)
This is an engine specification guide for General Motors’ fifth-generation LT1 engine that launched in 2014.
GM has built three engines designated as the LT1:
- 1970-72 – Gen. I, 5.7L, small block (technically, the first-gen. was written as “LT-1”)
- 1991-97 – Gen. II, 5.7L, small block
- 2014-present – Gen. V, 6.2L, small block
The new LT1 is the Gen. 5, 6.2L, small block engine used in Chevrolet performance cars. It was introduced in the 2014 C7 Chevy Corvette.
LT1 engines are all-aluminum and use Active Fuel Management (AFM) and Variable Valve Timing (VVT).
The engines also use direct fuel injection technology, which shoots fuel directly into the combustion chamber instead of the intake runner. However, the LT1 is not Flex Fuel capable (E85).
An LT1 6.2L crate engine is now available.
It is also worth noting that some Corvette versions of the LT1 came with a dry sump oiling system.
The information listed here is for a stock engine.

Fantastic, couldn’t ask for more. Keep it up. Thanks

Is it difficult to swap a lt1 from a 92 corvette to a gen 5 lt1?
Hello,
I am trying to buy a 4l80e transmission and I trying to figure out is there a certain bolt pattern I need. I have a 2017 Gen V LT1 engine that I want to put it with. Do anyone know what I should be looking for?
They have adaptors to install the 4l80 . If you are doing a trans. Plant I urge you to go with the 8 speed. Don’t have to worry about it. I went the 8 speed and swap was easier than I thought
The throttle body is 87mm, but how big is the intake manifold opening ?
Does puting a 92mm throttle body on it increase horsepower and performance ?
I’m looking for a picture or diagram of all the sensor locations on a Gen V , LT1 engine.
I’m ready to start connecting the wiring harness and it would be a lot easier to have a diagram showing where each sensor is located when I’m ready to start.
Thanks
