We met Courtney Barber last year when she agreed to share her Summit Racing-sponsored 1978 Ford Bronco—dubbed Project Road Warrior 2.0—with us.
Barber is known in hot rod circles for restoring a 1965 Mustang and putting more than 500,000 miles on it over the course of several epic road trips. When her Mustang lost a battle with the grueling roads needed to drive to the Arctic Circle, Barber decided she needed a vehicle better suited for rough roads and harsh climates.
She shared several details of her Bronco acquisition and build with us, but the South Carolina resident’s arctic road trip was derailed by 2018’s Hurricane Florence. A year later, she’s reset and refocused.

Our friends at Summit Racing caught up with Barber last month at the Hot Rod Power Tour stop at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH. Barber recapped her experiences with the Bronco and shared plans for her summer road trip to the Arctic Circle. Check it out.
I’m so impressed. Your Dad (my 1st cousin) sent me this text. So, continued success in all you do. Your great grandmother Barber believed that her granddaughters would be able to do and be whatever they wanted. She was greatly ahead of her time. It’s good to see her spirit and courage Living on.
