In today’s video, our friend Eric the Car Guy will show you how install roller lifters, roller rockers, and pushrods on a small block Chevy engine.
The principals for installing and setting up these parts apply to other engines too, Eric says.
Eric sourced these parts from COMP Cams, and he installed them in a 383 stroker engine in a 1990 C1500 pickup truck.
In the video, Eric also shows us how to align the rocker arms and properly set up the pushrod guide plates. Check it out.
Enjoyed video.
What is a 383 stroker engine?
350 CHEVY WITH A LONG STROKE CRANK
Hi I was wondering. I am also doing a 383 with AFR head 195 heads. I did not like the roller tip rocker arm so iam replacing the with full roller scorpion rocker arms. I noticed in your vedio that you adjusted your to 0 lash and a half a turn. You then followed down each head to adjust yours. May I be so kind to ask why you did not follow the firing order. Is there a reason for this? I installed my rocker and guide plates and will be adjusting the Monday after work. The way I was show was to bring number one to top dead center and turn the engine clock wish until one rocker just start to move down word. Then you can adjust the other valve in my case it’s the exhaust the moved first and I then adjusted the intake. Thanks for your time. Really liked the vedio.
