For a lot of Wrangler owners, the return of spring also heralds a changing of the tops.
Those in northern climates may swap a hard top in favor of a soft top, while southern Jeepers often downsize from a full soft top down to a bikini top—or go topless entirely (tee hee hee).
Whatever the wardrobe change may be, it’s probably a good time to re-asses the condition of your soft top windows. Even well-cared-for Jeep Wrangler windows are subject to fogging with age, and cloudy, opaque windows are no good for visibility. More importantly, ripped or cracked windows are just an invitation for water to get in, soak the carpet, and introduce rust.
The good news here is that, thanks to MasterTop, Wrangler JK owners don’t have to replace their entire top just to get new windows.
MasterTop makes Replacement Soft Top Windows for Jeep Wrangler JKs that will zip right in place of your originals. And they come in both tinted and clear, with options for both two-door and four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited models.
Or if your entire soft top is completely toast, no worries either. MasterTop offers complete MasterTwill Replacement Soft Tops at a fraction of the price you’d get from a dealer.
Will these “replacement windows” work on my 1949 CJ3A canvas top?
Hey Bob, these will not work with your 3A. I did some searching and it looks like Bestop is your best (and perhaps only) choice for replacement windows–and, from what I can tell, you’d have to buy the whole top and doors together. Click here to check out its TigerTop line.
the post was very useful .
Thanks for sharing.
What about YJs?
Hey Jordan, though they don’t make the windows available individually, MasterTop makes replacement YJ door frames/tops too.
For instance, click here to see what’s available for the 1990 Wrangler.
So….for the price of an entire new top, I can replace the side and back windows…..
Yeah….
No, thanks
