Regularly inspecting and changing your car, truck, or SUV’s engine air filter is an essential (yet often overlooked) bit of vehicle maintenance.
That’s because, unlike some other regular wear items (ahem…belts…ahem), air filters don’t usually offer any immediate, noticeable signs that they’re worn out.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few things you can look for. The filter folks over at WIX put together a short video that’ll give you a 101-style look at air filters, and (more importantly) show some common clues that indicate when your air filter should be replaced.
