As plenty of Jeep Wrangler JK owners will tell you, some JKs with a manual transmission have a tendency to develop a telltale rattle coming from the transmission bellhousing and clutch area when the Jeep is in neutral.
The McLeod folks figured out that the rattle is caused by a worn throwout bearing. McLeod’s engineers looked at the design, simplified and improved it, and created an upgraded replacement bearing to solve the problem.
We sat down with Will “Mr. Clutch” Baty for the Summit Racing Performance Parts Expo video series to learn more about it. Baty is McLeod’s Off-Road and R&D Specialist and he offers some insight into that new Wrangler JK bearing they’ve designed, and gives us the inside scoop on what else McLeod Racing is working on for the Jeep and off-road crowd.
