By themselves, PerTronix’s Digital HP Capacitive Discharge Ignition Box and Flame Thrower III coil are two of the company’s best-selling products. So why not combine them into one incredible power-building, throttle response-enhancing package?
That was the idea behind the PerTronix 510C Ignition Power Package.
The Digital HP Ignition Box delivers 172 mJ of spark energy and features an integrated three-step digital rev limiter, delivering multiple sparks all the way to redline.
“A lot of times (with the competition), you’ll get multiple sparks from idle to about 3,000 rpm,” “With our box, you get multiple spark all the way through redline. We have a lot of guys using this for street cars, circle track, drag racing, and anywhere in between.”
The ignition box includes a launch rev limit, burnout limit, and fatal rev limit, along with a starting line retard. Adjustability is simple using integrated dials—no separate chips required.
The ignition box and Flame Thrower III coil work together to provide more power, faster starts, higher RPM range, and quicker acceleration. Other key features include an RPM triggered output, locking automotive connector, tachometer output lead, and onboard error logging all in an ultra small form factor.
The canister-style coil allows for a larger spark plug gap for added power, smoother response, and improved fuel economy. It charges to peak current 30- to 70% faster than other coils and delivers as much as 45,000 volts.
The entire package is 50-state legal.

I am building a motor with weber downdraft carbs. Would this help my motor?
Hey Tim, don’t know much about your specific setup, but I don’t think the type of carburetion should be a big issue. This module is compatible with up to 12 cyl. engines and has a ton of adjustability. You can see the install instructions here and get some more specs from Pertronix here.
