While we’ve talked about the GT Heritage Editions before, Ford’s released a pair of new ones that give us plenty of reason to talk about them again.
That’s because these new Ford GTs are dressed to honor the car’s development and success at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race that cemented the original GT40’s legacy.

2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition
Revealed earlier this year, the Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage edition pays tribute to the experimental race cars that were developed to shed some weight from the car via the use of lightweight materials.
While those prototype racers didn’t win a major race, the lessons learned in their design and construction ultimately contributed heavily to Ford’s later 1-2-3 podium sweep at Le Mans in 1966.
The 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition wears special Alan Mann red paint and gold graphics, including a signature over-the-roof racing stripe. Frozen White accent stripes and “16” roundels complement the doors, hood, and rear wing.

2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition
Appropriately enough, Ford followed up that Alan Mann Heritage Edition with a nod to one of those aforementioned Le Mans racers, the famous Holden Moody GT40 Mk. II driven by Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson to a third place finish. It was the car that completed the legendary 1-2-3 sweep behind the two GT40s prepped by Shelby American.
Perhaps more importantly, that specific car was a key test mule used to improve and refine the GT40 Mk. II’s brakes, suspension, and tires to ensure all of the Ford GT40s were more competitive at the 1966 Le Mans race.
The 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition features a livery inspired by the original, right down to its Holman Moody Gold paint, and iconic Heritage Red and Oxford White accents.

Ford says the Alan Mann Heritage Editions are already being delivered, while the Holman Moody Heritage Editions will arrive later this spring.
