Carburetors have been around pretty much since the birth of the internal combustion engine and, believe it or not, folks are still finding ways to make them better. Case in point: Summit Racing’s Max Performance lineup of carburetors.
Blending trouble-free operation, easy adjustability, and dang-near bulletproof reliability, these carburetors are a smart choice for folks who need a way to feed their engine without starving their wallet.
Each one incorporates an electric choke and features universal throttle linkage, but because there’s no kickdown lever, Summit Racing explains that these carbs are not compatible with Ford engines running automatic transmissions.
Viton seals and stainless steel hardware ensure excellent longevity, and Summit Racing even tosses in non-stick gaskets so you can get up and running quickly.
Summit Racing Max Performance carburetors can be had in a handful of flavors, including:
- SUM-CARB600-ECVS – 600 CFM, Vac. Secondary
- SUM-CARB650-ECMS – 650 CFM, Mech. Secondary
- SUM-CARB650-ECVS – 650 CFM, Vac. Secondary
- SUM-CARB750-ECMS – 750 CFM, Mech. Secondary
- SUM-CARB750-ECVS – 750 CFM, Vac. Secondary
Please make them choke less
I have a 1967 Dodge dart Gt with a 273 ci engine and 904 auto transmission. It used to be 2barrel. I have installed a 280 comp cam and put on a eidelbrock 4 barrel intake manifold and hooker headers. Which size 4 barrel carb should I use? I have done no other up grades excep I put on msd ignition.
I would strongly suggest a 390 cfm Holley. Taking into account the spec of your engine.
