Drag racing engines have different oil demands than, say, the engine in your daily driver.
And though we’re pretty sure you just shouted “WELL, DUH!” at your screen, we figured it was worth diving into exactly what that means—specifically, what those different engine stresses are and how can they be confronted.
So we came across this short video from the lube leaders over at Driven Racing Oil that addresses some specific reasons why you need to run special oils formulated for a high-performance race engine.
It’s less than four minutes long and packed with some nuanced discussion on the science of racing oils. The video will cover some interesting topics about racing oils and lubrication—stuff you may not have heard before—and backs it all up with plenty of real-world explanation. Check it out:
I have noticed that you have never tested ARFTSOLUTIONS oil treatment. It’s hard to believe that after years of running 90% nitro and melting pistons and plugs. There is a solution and it works. To my adverse reaction when someone told me about arft. I was very skeptical but low and behold it works. Just thought you might be interested in no more melted pistons. Thanks Luke.
