We came across the JBA Performance Exhaust booth while strolling the 2022 PRI Show.

But what caught our eye wasn’t horsepower gains, clever tube routing, or slick-looking finishes, rather we were intrigued when we saw how much emphasis the JBA folks placed on CARB- and emissions-compliance.

In fact, JBA says it makes more CARB EO certified headers than any other manufacturer—and after seeing its mammoth vehicle applications sheet, we’re inclined to believe that.

That means these headers can be great replacements for cracked, leaky stock manifolds (early LS truck owners know what we’re talking about here…), and JBA says its headers can improve flow for better performance without the aid of a tuner. That’s a win-win in our book.

And what’s even better is that, as part of the Pertronix family of brands, JBA makes it really easy to understand which level of CARB compliance each of its products meets, by way of an intuitive color- and number-coding system. Check it out:

While not all JBA headers meet CARB guidelines, many of them do—specifically in the Cat4ward Headers line. JBA makes Cat4ward Headers for many(!) popular engines, like these:

And of course, each JBA header features a beefy, laser-cut flange with smooth, mandrel-bent primaries. You’ll also get gaskets to help you finish the install.

So if you’ve been looking for a good cure for your busted manifolds or just want to get a bit more giddyaup out of your engine while staying compliant with your local regulations, headers from JBA Performance Exhaust might be a good way to do it.

And if you buy your JBA headers through our pals at Summit Racing, you can check for the appropriate CARB EO Number at the bottom of the “Overview” section in the product description. (Image/Summit Racing)
