The latest Summit Racing project is a Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickup truck equipped with a Cummins 6.7L diesel engine.
But unlike a lot of project builds, the Summit Racing team didn’t start with a showroom-fresh vehicle here. Nope, this 2018 Ram 2500 is already a long haul, high mileage workhorse, with plenty of snow, rain, and dirt under its tires.
So the goal of this series is to show you how a few upgrades, some vital maintenance, and a little bit of elbow grease on a road-weary rig can be a smart alternative to buying an all new truck—and much easier on the wallet too.

Since one of the main duties of this Ram 2500 is towing, in this first video, the Summit Racing folks examine a few popular hitch options and weigh some pros and cons of each, to make sure they select the best hitch for the truck’s specific towing needs.
So you can think of this video as a handy guide to selecting a good tow hitch for your truck or SUV, whether you’ve got a car hauler, boat, camper, or work trailer. Check it out below and stay tuned for more video installments in the 2018 Ram 2500 Cummins Ram Revamp series.
