The latest Summit Racing project is a Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickup truck equipped with a Cummins 6.7L diesel engine.

But unlike a lot of project builds, the Summit Racing team didn’t start with a showroom-fresh vehicle here. Nope, this 2018 Ram 2500 is already a long haul, high mileage workhorse, with plenty of snow, rain, and dirt under its tires.

So the goal of this series is to show you how a few upgrades, some vital maintenance, and a little bit of elbow grease on a road-weary rig can be a smart alternative to buying an all new truck—and much easier on the wallet too.

If you’ve ever pulled a large trailer, then you already know how important a good set of truck horns is for keeping your rig and cargo safe—particularly on the highway, where inattentive drivers can meander into your lane or swerve in front of you to sneak a quick exit.

A good set of horns is also handy for maneuvering around a crowded parking lot, busy loading dock, or noisy jobsite, so you can alert folks to your location and movement.

That said, corrosion and wear had turned the 2018 Ram 2500’s stock horn into a mere whimper. So the Summit Racing team turned to the noise know-how of Kleinn Air Horns and installed a mighty set of train air horns.

Learn how to install a set of truck air horns—and hear the results—in this next installment of the Ram Revamp series below:
