All the planning in the world takes a back seat to Mother Nature. And she had plenty to say in Topeka, Kansas for the 2023 Menards NHRA Nationals at Heartland Motorsports Park. But once the bad weather cleared out, racing resumed and we saw some intense racing and an exciting evening of final runs. So let’s wring-out our socks and get to this week’s NHRA Wrap-Up.

2023 NHRA Sonoma Nationals Top Fuel Results
Justin Ashley has been a dominant racer all season, so it was no surprise to see him racing in the dark on Sunday night. Brittany Force has had plenty of great runs this season as well, setting the stage for an enticing Top Fuel showdown. Ashley left the line with the advantage, and the two dragsters were seemingly inches apart the entire run. But the starting line lead was the deciding factor as Ashley furthered his points lead with a 3.702 second, 323.58 mph run, narrowly besting Force’s 3.707@322.88.

2023 NHRA Sonoma Nationals Funny Car Results
Facing off against a points leader is never easy, especially if that points leader is Funny Car driver Matt Hagan. But Bob Tasca III was up to the task and saved the weekend’s best FC performance for last. Despite Hagan getting the jump off the line, Tasca III pressed on through the run to grab the fastest FC pass of the weekend with a 3.885@332.26.

2023 NHRA Sonoma Nationals Pro Stock Results
It was a reunion of sorts on Sunday with two of the biggest names in the sport facing off in the Final Round: Greg Anderson and Erica Enders. Enders cut the faster light and never trailed as she ran off with a winning 6.617 second, 206.13 mph run. The two are now 5th and 6th respectively in the points standings.
