The championship picture is getting ever-clearer as the NHRA leaves St. Louis, Missouri this week. In particular, Team Summit had a good showing with both Millican and Anderson snagging Wallys in their respective classes.
But we’re a long way from finishing the season, so let’s take a look at where everyone stands in this week’s NHRA Wrap-Up.

2023 NHRA Midwest Nationals Pro Stock Results
Here’s what we said in last week’s NHRA Wrap Up:
“If there’s one guy in Pro Stock who knows when to hit the afterburners on a championship run, it’s Greg Anderson.”
So….yeah, ditto that. Anderson grabbed his second Wally in so many weeks with a 6.552 second, 209.92 mph run that bested challenger Aaron Stanfield’s 6.567 @ 209.14.
Anderson is now #2 in the Pro Stock points standings.

2023 NHRA Midwest Nationals Top Fuel Results
Some racers are easy to root for—and Clay Millican is one of them. After slipping just off the top 10 in the Top Fuel standings last week, Millican raced back into the final round this past Sunday. Facing a determined Leah Pruett, the two racers were even at the start before Millican edged away with a 3.758 second, 331.94 mph pass to narrowly best Pruett’s 3.775 @ 327.66.
Despite the final round loss, a solid qualifying effort vaulted Pruett to the #2 position in the points standings.

2023 NHRA Midwest Nationals Funny Car Results
The Funny Car class might just be the most interesting one to watch as the 2023 NHRA season races to its conclusion.
And driver Matt Hagan just made it more interesting-er with his victory over the weekend. It was a matchup between #4 Hagan and #3 Ron Capps in the finals, but Hagan got the Wally with a 3.991 second, 324.90 mph effort to push past Capps’ 4.025 @ 306.88.
The result put Hagan at #3 and Capps at #4 in the Funny Car points standings.

2023 NHRA Midwest Nationals Pro Stock Motorcycle Results
After being dominant all season, Herrera is continuing his successful course in the NHRA’s playoff run this fall. Up against Eddie Krawiec on Sunday, Herrera cut the quicker light on his way to his eighth Wally this year, thanks to a 6.728 second, 201.79 mph run—just enough to overcome Krawiec’s 6.761 @ 201.52.
Hererra remains firmly planted at the #1 spot in the PSM standings.
