Got a Jeep Wrangler JL or Gladiator equipped with a manual transmission? Then we probably don’t need to tell you about some of the shortcomings of the stock Jeep Wrangler JL clutch. (Basically, Wrangler JL and Gladiator owners have reported catastrophic clutch failures and Jeep itself issued a related recall to address some of the known clutch issues—up to and including a fire risk.)
Turns out, we don’t need to tell the off-road clutch experts at McLeod, either.
That’s because they’ve been hard at work, examining the deficiencies of the stock Wrangler JL clutch system and designing an all new clutch kit that’ll overcome the concerns associated with the potentially problematic stock clutch.
And McLeod took a wholistic approach to its solution too. In other words, the McLeod folks didn’t just look at the clutch disc itself, instead they developed an entire clutch system that includes an upgraded clutch disc, flywheel, internal hydraulic bearing, and other key clutch parts.
McLeod calls these new kits its Adventure Series Trail Extreme Packs and they’re made specifically for the Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator.
The Summit Racing gang visited the McLeod booth during the 2023 SEMA Show to learn all about these vital Jeep clutch kits. You can see what they found out in the video below:
