Scorpion Racing Products has been in the performance engine arena for decades now, and during that time it has developed a fantastic lineup or rocker arms for a wide range of engine applications.

In other words, whether you’re building a torque monster for an off-road rig or a marine motor that’ll see sustained high-RPM use, there’s a good chance Scorpion’s got the perfect made-in-the-USA rockers for the job.

But that massive range of applications comes with a conundrum: How do you know which Scorpion Rocker Arms will work best for your engine build? We’ll break down some nuances between popular options in the Scorpion catalog below, and you can click on the headlines for each one to see them all at SummitRacing.com.

It all starts with Scorpion’s bread-and-butter, the Race Series. Consider these rocker arms the start of your anvil-solid valvetrain build. They’re made from aerospace-grade aluminum—which is a fancy way of saying they’re plenty durable, yet super lightweight. Better still, they’re CNC-machined to laser-tight tolerances, with no burrs or rough edges. Then they’re anodized for a final, extra level of durability.

Scorpion Race Series Rockers handle up to a 0.950 inch lift and a 950 pound maximum open spring pressure.

Scorpion offers Race Series rocker arms for many common Chevy, Pontiac, Ford, and AMC motors. (There’s also a mix of Race Series rocker arms specifically for GM LS engines too.)

The Endurance Series essentially takes all the good stuff from the Race Series and kicks it up with additional benefits.

For starters, Endurance Series rocker arms are lighter, trimming about 28 grams (on average) from the Race Series rockers. They’ve also got a lower profile—so there’s a good chance they’ll fit under your stock valve cover.

Endurance Series rocker arms handle a 0.750 inch lift and a 750 pound maximum open spring pressure.

Again, Scorpion makes Endurance Series rockers for a range of common Chevy, Ford, and AMC engines—and there are also options for Chrysler Magnum V8s too.

And for the boating crowd, you’ve got a a lineup of Scorpion Endurance Marine Series Rocker Arms made to handle the unique demands of a boat motor’s valvetrain. These rockers have angle-cut corners to fit inside marine-style valve covers and have been rigorously tested in marine racing environments.

Scorpion Narrow Body Rocker Arms

You can run out of space really quick when installing a beefy, upgraded aftermarket valvetrain. And if you’ve got small block Chevy cylinder heads that use center bolt valve covers instead of a perimeter bolt layout, you know that problem all too well—heck, room gets tight in a lot of Ford Windsor heads too.

For that reason, Scorpion offers its Narrow Body Rockers.

Available in a handful of common ratios for later SBC and Ford Windsor motors, these rockers require an external guideplate. But! Scorpion also offers a series of Narrow Body Self-Aligning Rocker Arms that eliminates the need for that aforementioned guideplate.

Sure, having plenty of rocker options for common V8s is good, but for a big part of the off-roading community, the trusty AMC six reigns supreme. These rocker arms boast the same impeccable build quality that made Scorpion famous, and now you can get them in 1.6 and 1.7 ratios for the legendary 232, 258, and 4.0L H.O. six found in about a zillion Jeep models since the 1970s.

So far we’ve been primarily talking about stud- and pedestal-mount rocker arms, but for serious valvetrain stability, most high-performance race engine builders opt for a shaft-mount design.

And you guessed it, Scorpion’s got your back there too with its Endurance Series Shaft Mount Rocker Kits. They’ve got fully radiused 7000 series aluminum rocker bodies and the steel components are made from bearing quality steel that’s heat-treated for ultimate durability.

Endurance Series Shaft Mount Rocker Arms help ensure that the rocker tip stays perfectly positioned over the valve, for maximum efficiency and valvetrain performance.

You can get these shaft mount rockers for the 23 degree SBC cylinder head and certain 23 degree AFR Eliminator series heads too. Click the link above to see all of your rocker options.
