LAS VEGAS, NV—The idea is simple: big trucks need big brakes.
It almost sounds too simple, but the automotive braking experts at Baer Brakes would know. Their new BIG Claw brake rotors are a full one to two inches larger in diameter than the stock rotors, depending on the application. That gives them increased leverage of the braking system for improved stopping power compared to the stock setup.
Essentially, you’re get the braking performance of big brake kit for the same price as just buying the brake rotor. To make this possible, Baer included a bracket that allows you to easily relocate your factory brake caliper. It’s a simple, bolt-on installation and doesn’t even require you to bleed the brakes.
The larger diameter size helps to reduce stopping distance, but Baer added some other key features that will improve overall braking performance. The rotors have been cast directionally and are drilled and slotted for better cooling. The result is a more consistent pedal feel with reduced brake fade. Of course, Baer recommends you pair the rotors with its Baer Claw brake pads for maximum effect.
Right now, Baer offers its BIG Claw rotors for a variety of late-model (dating back to 1999) GM, Ford, Dodge/Ram, and Jeep applications. This includes the F-150 Raptor, Ford Bronco, and Jeep JL and Gladiator JT models.
