Las Vegas, Nevada – As we strolled about the 2024 SEMA Show, it’s clear that the GM Gen. 5 LT-based engine family is quietly usurping the Gen. 3/4 LS as the go-to swap choice. And it’s easy to see why: They are getting more and more plentiful in salvage yards, and they still provide all the performance, versatility, and reliability of the LS engine.

So it’s zero surprise that Holley offers plenty of parts specifically for the Gen. V LT engines.

And for anyone swapping an LT into a vintage vehicle, you’ll really want to hear about this big single plane carbureted intake manifold.

Available under part number HLY-300-940, this manifold lets you easily plunk down a squarebore carburetor atop your fancy, modern Gen. 5 LT motor. Better still, the single plane design means it’s capable of enough high-rpm airflow to support big power applications.

In fact, the Holley folks tell us it’s a smart choice if you’re running a centrifugal supercharger or any other mild power-adder setupand yes, that includes nitrous.

It’s a cast aluminum design that’ll look right at home in the engine bay of a vintage hot rod or muscle car, and it’s only about 5.5 inches high, so it’ll slip under the hood of many retrofit projects too.

All told, if you want to run a modern GM Gen. 5 LT engine in your ride, but want to keep an old school carbureted vibe (and make plenty of power in the process), then this manifold from Holley is a good way to do it.
