Now that the Squarebody craze has carried prices of 1973-87 Chevy trucks to the stratosphere, many folks are looking to the early Old Body Style (OBS) trucks from 1988-98 as an attractive alternative. And it’s also worth mentioning that plenty of those OBS C1500 trucks are still in service doing daily work duty.

For those reasons and more, the folks at Flaming River developed a new steering column that’s a direct-fit for the earlier (1988-93) OBS trucks. These columns come in several finishes and will drop right in the place of the old, worn-out unit. They have all the stock features/controls, including stalk-mounted cruise control and wiper control too.

Better still, Flaming River says these columns are also a great fit for any hotrodder who wants to update the steering column in their old ride or is starting a fresh build and wants handy options like tilt, and the aforementioned stalk-mounted cruise and wiper control. (You can also get these columns in custom lengths as well.)

We stopped by the Flaming River booth at the 2024 SEMA Show to get the scoop on these new steering columns. Learn more about them below, and then you can click here to see all of the Flaming River steering columns at Summit Racing.
