Ford fans have long-known Trick Flow Specialties as the go-to source for high performance cylinder heads and intakes. And now TFS is upping the ante with the latest iteration of its mighty Twisted Wedge cylinder heads for Small Block Ford engines.

Dubbed the Twisted Wedge 11R 227 thanks to their 227cc intake ports, these cylinder heads feature Trick Flow’s most efficient combustion chamber design. The magic resides in moving the intake valves away from the cylinder walls, which reduces valve shrouding and significantly improves flow at higher lift.

The heads also boast shallow 11 degree intake and 13 degree exhaust valve angles—so you’ll have extra piston-to-valve clearance if you’re running a high lift cam. As an added bonus, it reduces chamber volume for improved compression and efficiency.

High velocity runners are optimized on the flow bench and dyno proven to outperform the competition on hydraulic roller camshaft engines.

The combustion chambers are CNC-profiled and fitted with stainless steel 2.080 inch intake and 1.600 inch exhaust valves. The valve assemblies are completed with Trick Flow by PAC Racing valve springs and titanium retainers.

And as you’d expect with anything coming out of the Trick Flow shop, these heads are downright gorgeous too—with precision machined castings finished to a high luster.

The Twisted Wedge 11R 227 heads are designed for popular engines in the venerable Ford Windsor family, notably the 289, 302 (5.0L), and 351, And the Trick Flow team says they’ll work with stock pistons and lower lift cams, plus all of Trick Flow’s Twisted Wedge-specific pistons with cams up to 0.600 inches of valve lift.

You can get them fully assembled, but TFS also sells the blank head castings if you want to fit your own valves too. They’re sold individually. Click the part numbers for pricing and availability.
