LAS VEGAS, NV — One of the names most synonymous with aftermarket performance continues to innovate. The Edelbrock Group introduced a large number of new products at this year’s SEMA Show, but here are a few they pointed out as particularly noteworthy:
We’ll start with the eye candy.
Black Plasma and Chrome Plasma Intakes and Carburetors
Without a doubt, the most eye-catching products in the Edelbrock booth were its Black Plasma and Chrome Plasma finished intakes and carburetors. There’s not a lot to say here, because the finishes speak for themselves. The Edelbrock folks do point out that both finishes are easy to clean and maintain. Each finish can be added to Edelbrock’s Performer EPS carburetors and its Victor Jr., Performer, Performer RPM, and Performer RPM Air-Gap manifolds.

High Energy DLC Flat Tappet Lifters
Edelbrock’s new lifter innovations aren’t as eye-catching as the new finishes, but they’re equally impressive and important.
The company has developed what it calls High Energy DLC Flat Tappet lifters. These lifters feature a Diamond-Like Carbon coated finish (DLC), which produces an extremely hard, tough surface and slick face that reduces friction at the cam lobe. This is designed to reduce the likelihood of a flattened cam lobe.
Evolution Hydraulic Roller Lifters
Evolution Hydraulic Roller Lifters feature Hydraulic Cartridge Technology (HCT), which is a self-contained hydraulic cartridge within the thick outer body of the lifter. This cartridge helps deliver a more consistent bleed rate between each lifter and, because it uses a reduced oil volume, it’s less affected by aeration. The precision-controlled bleed-down rate ensures better performance at high rpm than traditional hydraulic designs.

Ford Godzilla 7.3L Parts
How about Godzilla parts?
The Ford 7.3L Godzilla engine is hot and it’s getting hotter thanks to parts from aftermarket companies like Edelbrock. The Edelbrock XTS manifold features sheetmetal construction with billet flanges and shorter-than-stock runners for high-rpm gains. It comes with common vacuum take-off ports with mounting and routing hardware. Its horizontal throttle body mount solves the most common swap fitment issues and fits the 102mm throttle body.
Other Godzilla developments from Edelbrock include a conical valve spring kit and line of Ford 7.3L Godzilla camshafts.

LSX Intake Manifold Intercooler
The LSX Intake Manifold Intercooler for LS engines fits between the upper and lower intake manifold on centrifugal supercharged and turbocharged LS engines using the popular high-ram style intakes. The air-to-water intercooler delivered a 198-degree F drop in temperature and less than 1 psi loss across the intercooler when tested on a 1,350-horsepower/20 psi turbocharged LSX.

Twin-Force Turbocharger Kits
Edelbrock is moving into the turbocharger arena with its new Twin-Force Turbocharger Kits for 2017-2020 Ford F-150 and Raptor trucks with 3.5L Ecoboost engine. Edelbrock collaborated with Garrett on the design of the 60mm billet-compressor-wheel turbos, which offer a 54% increase in airflow over factory turbos. These kits are available in three progressive stages, offering a 100 to 157 rear-wheel horsepower increases to suit your performance needs.
Stage 1 Power Package: Increases horsepower by 100 rear-wheel horsepower. This package includes a larger capacity intercooler, high-flow inlet piping and air filter, and Stage 1 tuner and calibration. It does not include the actual turbocharger.
Stage 2 Turbo System: Includes everything from the Stage 1 but adds two Garrett turbos for a 130 rear-wheel horsepower increase.
Stage 3 Turbo System: Includes everything from Stage 2 but adds an electric fuel pump booster and Stage 3 calibration for a 157-horsepower increase over stock.
Stage 1-2 Turbo System Upgrade Kit: Everything needed to upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2.
Stage 2-3 Turbo System Upgrade Kit: Everything needed to upgrade from Stage 2 to Stage 3.
