After revealing that 2023 will be the last model year for its beloved Charger/Challenger duo, Dodge also announced a series of seven “Last Call” special editions to herald the cars’ retirement. These limited production Challenger and Charger models blend Mopar’s history, performance, and style, and have been released over the course of the last few months. We’ve seen the first six Last Call editions already:

- Charger Super Bee
- Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger
- Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger
- Charger King Daytona
- Challenger Black Ghost
And now, we got to see the final Last Call edition—and it looks like Dodge is sending these cars off with a bang.
1,025 bangs to be exact.
With 1,025 horsepower and an NHRA-certified 8.91 second, 151.17 mph quarter-mile ET, Dodge is calling its Challenger SRT Demon 170 the quickest, fastest, and most powerful muscle car in the world.
And yes, just like the last Demon, running sub-9 seconds without a cage or chute earned it a “banned from competition” nastygram from the NHRA.
The “170” in the car’s name hints at where all that tire-shredding magic comes from: The C170 Hellephant Crate Engine. The 6.2L Hemi powerplant makes 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb.-ft. of torque on E85, thanks to a 3.0L supercharger that makes 40% more boost than the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody.
The Hellephant can also run on E10 thanks to optimized fuel and spark timing, where it *only* makes 900 horsepower and 810 lb.-ft. of torque.

In addition to running 8s, the Challenger SRT Demon 170 can scoot from zero-to-sixty in a scant 1.66 seconds and hold over two Gs on the skidpad—due in large part to a staggered(!) set of Mickey Thompson 245/55R18 ET Street tires up front and 15/50R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials out back.
Coupled to that Hellephant is Dodge’s trusty TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic, though it’s got some tweaks to accommodate a larger, stronger propeller shaft.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 also incorporates an innovative trans brake, stronger driveline, and active-damping shocks. There’s even a clever system that diverts chilled air from the Demon’s HVAC system to the supercharger’s intercooler for improved cooling of the compressed air entering the engine.
Outside, the Demon still wears a massive hood scoop and those fender flares can be removed to shed weight too. Buyers will also get treated to an array of unique badging, emblems, and plaques emblazoned throughout the car.

Dodge says the Challenger SRT Demon 170 will carry an MSRP of $96,666 (get it?) and it is limiting production to 3,300 cars. Online ordering begins on March 27 and will close on May 15, 2023.
