Look, we try—we really try—to be objective when talking about all-things automotive. And that’s particularly true when it comes to motorsports.
But this is Summit Racing’s official blog and when not one, not two, but three Team Summit drivers grab Wallys at a single NHRA event, then admittedly, we get downright giddy.
That’s precisely what happened over the weekend in Chicago, Illinois at the Route 66 NHRA Nationals.
And we’re pretty darn sure *gasping into paper bag* that this is the first time this Summit Racing hat trick has ever happened.
So let’s not waste another moment on getting to a very special “Threefer Madness” edition of your NHRA Wrap-Up.

2023 NHRA Route 66 NHRA Nationals Pro Stock Results
Speaking of threefers, this happens to be Dallas Glenn’s third Wally of the 2023 NHRA season, and it was well earned. After fighting his way to Sunday, Glenn faced Deric Kramer—fresh off his win at the Four-Wide Nats just a few weeks ago. But some early tire chatter from Kramer allowed Glenn to speed to victory with a 6.562 second, 209.95 mph run. The win increases Glenn’s lead in the overall Pro Stock points standings too.

2023 NHRA Route 66 NHRA Nationals Top Fuel Results
Despite a slow start to his 2023 campaign, the switch clicked in a big way for Clay Millican in Chicago. Even in the early rounds, it was clear that Millican had a fast dragster. He raced his way to a Sunday showdown with a hard-charging Josh Hart. But Millican cut the quicker light and dashed to a dramatic 3.801 second, 328.94 mph pass—just enough to edge out Hart’s 3.808 @ 324.28. It was Millican’s fourth Top Fuel win of his career and his first since the 2021 season. Congrats Clay!

2023 NHRA Route 66 NHRA Nationals Funny Car Results
It’s always great to race in your home state, so when Tim Wilkerson staged up against Ron Capps in the Finals on Sunday, we’re sure Wilky had plenty of folks with crossed fingers in the stands. And after an early chute deployment slowed Capps’ Funny Car midway down the track, the crowd went a bit bonkers. All told, Wilkerson took the win with a 3.966 second, 325.14 mph run.

2023 NHRA Route 66 NHRA Nationals Pro Stock Motorcycle Results
With all the Team Summit excitement this weekend, we’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about Pro Stock Motorcycle and…well, if you’ve been following the PSM ranks this year, you probably already know who’s on deck.
Gaige Herrera has been a dominant force early in the 2023 PSM calendar, and he maintained that momentum in Chicago. Paired up with Chip Ellis in the Finals, Ellis cut the faster light, but began to drift, allowing Herrera to power though to a 6.717 second, 201.25 mph run that eclipsed Ellis’ 6.791 @ 200.26.
