A parking lot is a parking lot is a parking lot—unless it’s the Summit Racing parking lot. On any given day or time, the lot outside a Summit Racing store can turn into an impromptu mini car show, depending on who’s stopped by the store. Each Wednesday, we’ll share our parking lot find of the week—another benefit of being Powered by Summit Racing Equipment.
Street rod, rat rod, and muscle car—check.
Truck and Jeep—check.
Station wagon—check that, too.
We’ve found just about every type of vehicle imaginable for our weekly Lot Shots feature, with the notable exception of the van. This week, we cross vans off the “to-find” list for our weekly parking lot scavenger hunt thanks to this 1955 Ford Panel Van. Long before the A-Team and Scooby-Doo made driving vans (dare we say) cool—and way before shag carpet became an accepted upholstery option—Americans were piloting classic, stylish vans that were built off of popular passenger car and truck platforms.
We were waiting for a worthy candidate to introduce the van to our Lot Shots feature. And we think this 1955 Ford Panel Van is plenty worthy. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
what a great job, on this 1955 ford panel van very clean .
