Editor’s Note: The year 2013 gave us the C7 Chevrolet Corvette and took from us performance legends like Dean Jeffries and Stu Hilborn. We had a light-hearted look at the half-dozen Fast and Furious movies and got serious with dozens and dozens of new tech articles and how-tos. We even put a hot rodder’s spin on March Madness and Fantasy Football. All told, there were over 550 new articles from OnAllCylinders in 2013.

Before we turn the calendar to ’14, we’re taking a look back at our most-popular, most-read articles of 2013. In case you missed them, here are the Top 5 car culture and lifestyle posts from the past year.

1. Muscle Car Match-Ups

In what ended up being one of the greatest ideas in the history of mankind, we created a tournament in which classic muscle cars were pitted against one another in the spirit of the NCAA basketball tournament. Winners were decided by your votes. Some of us really wanted the 1964 Plymouth Belvedere to win because we love underdogs and Cinderella stories. You guys had other ideas.

2. Meme Mania: Our 11 Favorite Automotive Memes

We love the internet. It’s where we live AND play. And thanks to a bunch of awesome people with a little too much time on their hands, the web is now flooded with hilarious (and not-so funny!) internet memes. We scoured the internet for ones we liked. We found 11. We shared them. And you liked it! You REALLY liked it!

3. Fantasy Garage

Because we operate in Magical Fairytale Land sometimes to compensate for life in the suburbs and business-casual office attire, we introduced Fantasy Garage this year. The premise was simple: You can fill your garage with six different types of vehicles: Street Rod/Classic, Classic Muscle, Truck/SUV/Jeep, Late Model Muscle, Powersports, and Daily Driver. The Fantasy Garage. We liked it. You liked it. We should totally organize an imaginary cruise-in to show off our imaginary cars.

4. The 10 Best (and 5 Worst) Automobile Slogans of All Time!

There were sweet ones, like “Have you driven a Ford, lately?” and “Fahvergnugen!” And there were less-than-stellar ones like “Hi.” Get the full report inside.
