They say timing is everything.

hello i have went through 2 engines now because of a thrust bearing issue i have changed transmissions and torque converters with anti balloon plates i went to a larger trans cooler and lines but still the thrust failed . yes i have 3 different grounding points as well this time we got 150 miles out of the engine desperately need some advice here
Hi, just came across your video. I have a question on cam timing. I did a rebuild on my ‘96 vette with a LT4. The engine “seems” to pull strong on WOT but it is tripping a random misfire (P0300) while daily driving. During the rebuild I did replace the cam with a GM Hot Cam as the factory cam was junk and is not available.
My question is, if I missed the cam timing by 1 tooth would the engine run fairly well. The only concerns that would indicate a problem are;
1. Random misfire
2. Low intake manifold vacuum (12” at idle)
3. Questionable performance
