Another day, another confirmed Jeep rumor.
Yesterday, we received confirmation that Jeep will offer a truck edition of its 2018 Wrangler.
Today, Jeep has confirmed the long-anticipated rumor that it will release a Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee.
We first got hold of this rumor last summer, when it was reported by Car & Driver. Now, Jeep CEO Mike Manley has confirmed the news at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
When asked by auto writer Brian Makse if he could put a Hellcat motor in a Jeep SRT, Manley responded, “Not only can I put a Hellcat motor in one of those for you, I’m going to bring that to market before the end of 2017.”
Still not sold? Here’s the video proof:
The original rumor stated the Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee would carry the “Trailhawk” badge rather than SRT, but that has not yet been confirmed.
Regardless, at least we now know for sure that we’ll see a Jeep Grand Cherokee powered by the vaunted supercharged 6.2L Hellcat V8.
Hell ya! I would like to see it keep the SRT badge, not a trailhawk
I want a 6.2 in my RAM!
