There will be plenty to see and do at the Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama April 22-23, but the collection of award-winning cars and trucks on display in the Show Car Garage will be unmissable.
The Atlanta Motorama, the south’s largest outdoor auto event which is now in its fourth year, is back at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and if you have the means of getting there, you should.
Among the many event highlights will be the Show Car Garage, featuring 21 award-winning vehicles from all over the United States. You’ll see Ridler Award Great 8 finalists, ISCA champions, and many others.
Anchoring the impressive lineup will be a pair of 1932 Fords and a 1957 Chevrolet Belair, a nod to the 2017 show’s special celebration of the iconic model years’ 75th and 60th anniversaries, respectively.
One of the ’32 Fords, a Tudor Sedan, was a pet project of Dr. David Floyd, an eye doctor from Hokes Bluff, AL. Floyd said the build was inspired by his memories of early 1950s dirt-track racers and includes a mix of design features, both inside and out, that give it a custom 1960s hotrod feel without straying too far from its original design. The vehicle was featured on the cover of the January 2017 edition of Street Rodder Magazine.

- Bryan Fuller’s 1977 Honda Shogun
The Show Car Garage will be located inside the track’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garage and will be free to enter with admission into the festival.
Participant entry for the Motorama is open to anything with an engine, ranging from classic cars, muscle cars and custom cars, to imports, rat rods, hot rods, trucks, big rigs, motorcycles and even boats and RVs. Registration and more event information can be found be found here.
Another show highlight will by the “Smokey and the Bandit” 40-year anniversary commemorative display, which you’ll want to read about here. Portions of the popular film were actually shot at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and participants and movie fans will be celebrating that throughout the weekend event.
On top of that, Georgia’s Motoring Festival will feature a gigantic car show with more than 35 car clubs participating.
