Seems like folks are shoving GM LS motors in everything short of washing machines these days, so our hats are off to the gang at Ultimate Headers. They’ve got a line of LS swap headers designed to solve a lot of the problems that come with tossing a modern engine into an old car.
Ultimate Headers makes these stainless steel swap headers for Gen. I small block Chevy, 1992-97 LT1, GM LS, and even Gen. V LT-1/LT-4 motors. You can get them for the Chevy Camaro, Corvette, Nova, Chevelle, and C-/K-Series pickup trucks. They’re also a good choice for hot rods and street machines, where under-hood space is critical. Ultimate Headers come in five finishes: satin, mirror polished, silver, black ceramic, or mill (matte).
What makes Ultimate Headers so special? The header flange, for starters. Using cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing techniques, Ultimate headers created a flange that is stronger, yet lighter than a traditional flange. Better still, the flanges’ reinforcing ribs dissipate heat more efficiently than a traditional style flange, virtually eliminating the possibility of warping. When you install them with Cometic MLS gaskets, exhaust leaks become a thing of the past.
Ultimate Headers also feature tight radius elbows, which allow the header primaries to turn downward (and rearward) close to the flange without compromising the exhaust flow or the tubing strength. This makes the headers more compact and easier to fit inside a cramped engine bay.
If you’re handy with a welder, Ultimate Headers will sell you the flanges and elbows separately. It’s a smart move if you want to build a custom header setup without a ton of fabrication work.
Do you build a header that will fit an ls with arias hemi heads on it where the flange meets the head is at a 45 angle
I am putting a sbc 421 stroker in my C5 Corvette and having trouble finding a set of headers to fit due to the LS motor mounts. Could you build a set of sbc headers to fit a C5 frame. Thanks, Charlie.
Hey Charles, interesting project! While there is no shortage of shorty-style headers or block-hugger headers for the SBC, our best advice is to contact the Summit Racing folks here. They’ll ask you some precise fitment questions and may be able to recommend a set of headers that’ll work for an SBC swap in your C5.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the build!
