LAS VEGAS, NV — Combine the spirit and attitude of a rat rod with the fit, finish, and detail of a modern street rod, and you’ve got Robert Lopez’s 1936 Ford custom pickup.
The modifications on the truck are stunning. The result is a stunningly beautiful truck that currently graces the main hall at the SEMA Show. The truck’s cab was channeled over a completely boxed stock frame, and the seven-inch chopped, fully removable top attaches to laid back windshield posts. Its handmade bed and tailgate is 17 inches shorter and five inches wider than stock. The grille is sectioned four inches with quarter-inch detail bead added to the outer shell. The truck is covered in Burnt Copper pearl in both satin and glossy finishes, and its body features a healthy dose of traditional four-inch louvers.
Under the hood, the ’36 is powered by a 276 cubic-inch Desoto Fire Dome HEMI.
