FORT WORTH, TX — We knew the Chevy folks had something up their sleeves when they hinted at a big announcement during a Chevrolet Trucks 100th-anniversary event at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, TX this past weekend.
With the help of a massive helicopter, Chevy used the event to fly in a completely redesigned 2019 Chevy Silverado. The truck is all-new from the ground up, and is expected to deliver both improved capability and performance.
Some of the biggest news might be out back, where a higher-grade steel alloy is used in the bed floor, making it stronger and lighter than before.
In fact, high-tech construction is a theme you’ll see throughout the new 2019 Silverado, as Chevy engineers used advanced materials and manufacturing techniques to improve performance and shed weight.
Chevrolet plans to have eight different submodels when the fourth-generation Silverado hits dealer showrooms. The truck Chevy brought to the Centennial event featured the “LT Trailboss” trim, which combines the off-road equipment of the Z71 package with a two-inch suspension lift.
The all-new 2019 Chevy Silverado will make its official public debut in January during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI.
