A parking lot is a parking lot is a parking lot—unless it’s the Summit Racing parking lot. On any given day or time, the lot outside a Summit Racing store can turn into an impromptu mini-car show, depending on who’s stopped by the store. Each Wednesday, we’ll share our parking lot find of the week—another benefit of being Powered by Summit Racing Equipment.
It’s early on in our “Lot Shots” series, but we haven’t shared any Fords or trucks from our parking lot treasure hunt. This week, we remedy the situation by bringing you both—sort of. We found this 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero recently while loitering—er, strolling through—the parking lot at Summit Racing headquarters.
How do we know it’s a 1965 (aside from the license plate, wise guy)? The 289 motor replaced the 260-cubic-inch engine for the final year of the Falcon Ranchero—1965. In 1966, Ford dropped the Falcon moniker and built the Ranchero on a modified station wagon body.
Take a look and let us know what you think. We’ve shared some great Chevy, Mopar, and Ford finds over the last three weeks. Which is the best?
Chevy all the way.
Being old school, and older age wise also, in reference to the old Chevy vs Ford etc. 1st goes to Chevy. 2nd goes to MOPAR. 3rd goes to Ford.
That is a very nice Falcon Ranchero however.
”I AM A FORD MAN ALL THE WAY……..
#1 Definitely FORD. #2 Technology inferior GM products. #3 Mopar is No Car.
